Reimbursement of spectacles for Prasar Bharati Employees (spectacles/optical glass frame) has been clarified by the Prasar Bharati Secretariate. There was a lot of confusion about if reimbursement of spectacles can be done for Prasar Bharati (PB) employees or not.
With reference to DDK Patna letter No DDK/PAT/19(4)}/2019-20(Med-PB) dated 16.03.2020, vide which clarification had been sought regarding reimbursement of optical glass frame or admissibility and non-admissibility of treatment/procedure in respect of Prasar Bharati Employees.
In this regard, Prasar Bharati vide its order dated: 22/11/2016, 06/10/2017 & 16.05.2018 has already been stated that “The reimbursement towards OPD treatment would not be restricted as per CGHS rates and would be as per actuals (i.e. limit laid down in PBS order No. A-10011/5/2015-PPC dated:22/11/2016) on the production of original bills and prescription by Doctor“. Further synopsis of OPD guidelines stipulated in the above policy includes OPD treatment in a comprehensive manner subject to a prescription issued by an authorized medical practitioner.
